Import China and Belarus phytosanitary checks of wood packaging material
As of October 1st 2018, all Wood Packing Material used for transport of goods imported from China or Belarus, listed under the enclosed Customs Codes, must be declared and is subject to a mandatory documentary compliance check.
This measure applies to all modes of transport coming into every Common Entry Gate (CEG) before customs clearance of the goods. Controls will be carried out by the French Veterinary & Phytosanitary Inspection Service (SIVEP).
24-hour prior to arrival of goods, the operator must have already provided the CEG with the following documents:
- CHED-PP (Common Health Entry Document - Plant Products)
- Copy of the invoice
- Bill of Lading
- Fumigation certificate of the container or any treated wood framing
- Any other document used to describe and identify the goods and its conditioning, and enabling to estimate the quantity of wooden packaging inside the container.
Identification and physical checks may be organized in order to detect harmful organisms and ensure proper ISPM 15 marking. In the event of a potential phytosanitary risk or in the absence of the mandatory marking compliance, all Wood Packing Material will be destroyed.
